The concept of a “portrait of a graduate” can help guide educators with their planning of course materials, instruction, and career preparedness initiatives so that students leave high school ready to tackle life after graduation. In this workshop, we will explore the key competencies necessary for today's graduates to emerge confidently into whatever professional path they pursue, as well as strategies teachers can incorporate into their classrooms to ensure students have the skills they need to land competitive jobs and succeed in diverse spaces. Together we can develop our learners beyond academic literacy – guiding them towards becoming accomplished professionals through meaningful experiences both inside and outside the classroom!
